Our Services
  1. Designing of Microfinance Scheme
The success in microfinancing is measured by two major indicators, viz: (i) the extent to which clients' financial needs are met, and (ii) the financial health of the service providing institution. The design of microfinance institution is key to its success. The increasing demand for wide range of financial services by microenterprise owners requires that attention be given to vital issues as definition of target group, disbursement and collection procedures, loan tracking and impact assessment. In designing credit and savings schemes, we are sensitive to the local economic activities, existing financial arrangement, cost, and local capabilities.

  2. Institutional strengthening for non-governmental organizations
Development realities in Africa put enormous pressure on the people who act directly to meet their felt needs. In response, non-governmental organizations are being promoted as veritable structure for community action. Currently, there are several NGOs, actively involved in areas as microenterprise, development, microfinance, civil liberties; environmental preservation, social and political transformation, community health communication, and community development. These institutions require support to effectively implement their respective mandates.
We provide this support. Our key competences are in visioning, governance, fund raising and impact assessment.

  3. Capacity enhancement for Credit Staff
In microfinancing, the use of modern technologies, is being embraced by government and non-governmental institutions. Developing appropriate skills and competence is imperative. Drawing on experience as practitioners, we deliver world class training packages designed for credit officers, managers, members of Boards of microfinance institutions, as well as staff of relevant government departments and development - focused agencies. Our strength are in innovations and product development, business planning for microfinance institutions, board development, delinquency management monitoring and impact assessment.

  4. Microenterprise Development Services
Clients of Microfinance Institutions are actors in the informal sector where microenterprises populate. By their large number, microenterprises make enormous contribution to the economy. Beside the constrained access to finance, microenterprise owners contend with management problems. LAPO Development Services Limited provides support services as basic business planning, identification of business opportunities management, and basic financial management.

  5. Exposure/internship programme

The scheme provides visitors/participants with the opportunity to interact with the various units and branches within the LAPO System. Participants are exposed to our methodologies and our experiences, our successes and also learn from our mistakes.
